One of the country ' s oldest UPZs, St. Petersburg State Institute of Technology (Technical University) is training various specialists for enterprises and organizations of the North-West Federal District chemical and technology complex. In order to train such personnel, a staff management and advertising department was established in 2003, which is one of the structural units of the Faculty of Economics and Management of SPBGTI (TU). Since 2011, training has been carried out in conjunction with specialists in the areas of staff management and Reklam and public relations.

The following subjects are taught in the course of training in the humanitarian, social and economic cycles: " History " , " psychology " , " economy " , " art and literature " and others. Professional disciplines include " staff management grounds " , " sociology and management psychology " , " advertising and public relations divisions " , " surveying and situation analysis " , " communication theory " and others. The cafeteria graduates have not only relevant but also specific “market” competencies (management, legal, marketing and others).

This is facilitated by a well-established educational and methodological work. The training process is organized in such a way that students are able to work freely with various computer programmes, combine professions, process information independently and make timely decisions. Employers find that there is a significant gap in training that lacks attention to practical knowledge and special competences. In this regard, the topics of the courses and diplomas are more focused on the practical application of theoretical knowledge through the example of specific organizations. Examples include the topic of diploma and course work in the main areas of the cafeteria.
