In the light of the adoption in November 2009 of the Federal Act on Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency and on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation (No. 261-FZ of ) demands for the management of the energy component of any organization ' s activities are tightened.

An effective tool for reducing the organization ' s energy costs is the motivation of staff to energy savings, which, without significant financial investments, will improve economic performance, reduce the cost of production of goods and services, and increase staff productivity.

The mechanism for developing activities to improve staff motivation based on energy conservation indicators includes work on the development and implementation of the organization ' s innovative energy policies.

Use of accumulated development in individual development staff motivation system Given the organization ' s specificity, energy savings range from 10 to 40 per cent, depending on the number of motivating elements introduced.

Benefits: Much of the proposed interventions to increase staff motivation based on energy conservation are low-cost.
